Jim’s career in engineering expands over 33 years in Australia and overseas. Jim began his training with specialist engineering company Warren and Brown based in Melbourne in 1978. He spent the first year at the renown and highly respected Repco Engineering Training Centre in Carlton, Melbourne. Under expert guidance, he gained valuable technical skills and learnt to operate a wide range of engineering equipment.He remained with Warren and Brown for eight years gaining his 1st Class Fitting and Turning, Tool Making & Production Technician Certificates whilst working in all the different engineering sections. He moved from the manufacturing of machinery, equipment and components into the engineering sales office where he developed valuable business skills. Prior to leaving Warren & Brown to expand his career opportunities, Jim became the official company product expediter serving as right hand man to the chief engineer of the day, Harold Woods.In 1986 he joined Premier Machinery in Victoria as a Sales Engineer, selling, installing and maintaining a wide range of engineering equipment including the French made Serdi Valve Seat & Guide machines, the US made Kwikway & Rottler grinding, boring and surfacing equipment and Danish made AMC-Schou precision grinding and boring machines in Australia and overseas..In 1989, seeing the need for a locally based representative to serve the local engineering, mining & engine reconditioning industries, Jim relocated to Perth, establishing the Automatic Parts Degreasing Equipment supply company Hotwash Australia in Osborne Park, Perth, Western Australia.
