MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: - Conduct scientific search to understand the subject matter and identify similar studies- Design the study, write protocols specific to the study- Plan and conduct laboratory experiments (formulation and characterization) independently- Document raw data, interpret and present to the team for discussion and update- Train undergraduates on some analytical procedures from sample preparation to data interpretation- Manage the laboratory KEY GOALS: - Formulate Chitosan (positively charges surface) and Hyaluronic (negatively charged surface) acid coated poly-(Isobutyl cyanoacrylate) nanoparticles via emulsion polymerization method.- Formulate hexagonal shaped polymeric nanoparticles (nanoplatelets) via self-assembly method.- Purify (dialysis, of known pore size) the formulation and adjust the pH to 7.46- Evaluate the impact of particles shape (spherical and hexagonal) and surface charge on protein corona formation (in dynamic and static state).- Evaluate cells viability studies- Identify the protein corona compositionACHIEVEMENTS: - Formulated chitosan and hyaluronic acid coated PIBCA nanoparticles of average size (nm) 233 ± 63 and 508 ± 18 respectively. Their colloidal stability was confirmed by zeta potential value of 41.87 ± 0.19 and -39.37 ± 0.40 respectively which also confirmed the surface charges of chitosan and hyaluronic acid coated nanospheres in respective order. - Successfully obtained grafted palmitic acid on poly-(butylene oxide)/poly-glycol copolymer (PBO/PG 70:30) which further served to obtain hexagonal shaped nanoparticles of Z-av 636 ± 25. - Developed skills on NMR, TEM and SEM.- Improved data documentation skills and presentation to external audiences and peers during workshops.- Conducted viability studies and observed the cells under a bright field microscope- Design the proteomic study (nanoHPLC/MS) for the identification of the protein corona.

My internship was about the formulation of different drug carriers using native albumin. These Biomaterials have been shown to be biodegradable, biocompatible, not toxic (as we do not use surfactants, toxic solvents and the process is carried out at 37°C). I Formulated Biodegradable Drugs carriers from Albumin by salt compaction, top-down process (Foams, Membranes, cylinders, MP, and NP) From the obtained foams and cylinders, I evaluated the feasibility of obtaining microparticles and nanoparticles by a top-down process, later I optimized the formulation and evaluated their stability.-Still in this project, I Characterized the formulation (DLS, Zeta Potential, Microscopy, TGA, DSC, NTA, etc- Evaluated the impact of Freeze Drying on the stability albumin NP.- Conducted various freeze-drying experiments- Carried out post loading using Doxorubicin
