Cell line engineering and upstream process development focused on viral vector production in mammalian cell lines

Conceptualized, designed, and carried out experiments using a wide variety of immunology, cell biology, and molecular biology methods. Conducted in vivo and ex vivo studies in mice and rats, including multi-organ necropsy and tissue isolation for primary cell culture and/or analysis by flow cytometry (high-parameter multicolor).Designed and cloned vectors for CRISPR/Cas9, siRNA and shRNA as well as protein overexpression and delivered by both electroporation and lipid-based transfection into mammalian cell lines. Assessed these by western blot, intracellular flow cytometry, and functional reporter assays.Widely collaborated and provided training and practical assistance with flow cytometry and other methods. Trained new lab members on protocols and mentored multiple summer program students. Managed lab resources and assisted with troubleshooting for the other projects in the lab.

Antibody Discovery:Assisted with study design and data analysis for early discovery and IND-enabling studies for a therapeutic multi-antibody cocktail. These included in vitro (immunoassays, pseudovirus and live virus neutralization, reporter cell line activation) and in vivo (viral challenge) studies.Pipeline and Target Development:Provided contextual background research on novel technologies and proposed implementation into novel drug discovery pipelines. Conducted target-specific validation for specific disease indications and presented possible therapeutic use cases for existing assets.Scientific Writing:Generated text and figures for use in grant applications, investor and client relations presentations, and scientific publications. Figures included Graphpad PRISM plots, Adobe Illustrator overview graphics, and protein structures generated from public and private data.

I conducted a research project in a soil science biochemistry laboratory, collecting samples and processing them on various types of analytical chemistry equipment. At the end of the summer I presented my findings to the research station in the form of a seminar.

I was responsible for 3-6 patients and was in charge of providing basic cares such as feeding assistance, bathing assistance, and other cares directed by a physician and the nursing staff. I was also responsible for documenting vital signs as well as any other cares I provided for the patients.
