Who I Am:■ My first job was at 10 years old driving a tractor similar to the one in my cover picture on my Grandfather's tobacco farm. I remember being really scared that they would forget to come turn the tractor at the end of the row; however, they never did. Everything I am comes from the lessons that began in that tobacco field.■ Deputy CIO, Director of Client Engagement and Support for ECU with 27+ years of combined IT experience grounded by a strong technical background.■ Top skills are ability to communicate (listening, verbal, written); planning & organization (high degree of detail); problem solving with practical solutions using uncommon sense and straight talk; teamwork (I thrive in a team setting as I have been a part of some amazing teams both in sports (baseball) and during my career on many high priority projects.■ A voracious reader with an educational background grounded in Business, Investing, Higher Education and Information Technology.Some of What I Do/Have Done:■ Provide direct management and oversight of the Project Management Office and IT Service Management functions for ECU, including: classroom A/V technology, learning management systems, end user support, student labs, inventory management, and IT service desk.■ Oversees cross-institutional initiatives and executive level projects, fostering strategic partnerships across the university in support for campus wide initiatives. ■ Serves on behalf of the CIO as the principal IT Officer, in the CIO’s absence or as requested.■ Assists the Chief Information Officer in leading overall information technology strategic planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing information technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technology projects. ■ Assists the Chief Information Officer in governance oversight, project and portfolio management, and service delivery management. ■ Supported the ITCS Project Management Office made up of four highly adept IT Project Managers.■ Managed the ITCS Project Intake Process.■ Applied my PM expertise with a focus on higher education software development, IT Infrastructure, and IT medical / clinical projects.■ Received ECU Creed award for Responsibility■ Received ECU Treasured Pirate Award
