    ● Took over Python code used for the initial migration of 2.5M assets from Reach Engine to Avid MAM. Corrected handling of timecode values, fixed performance issues and bugs. Compared MAM assets created to original assets, then added code to handle additional metadata fields found. Refactored and reformatted code to meet department guidelines, then uploaded to GitHub.● Migrated remaining assets from Reach Engine to Avid MAM using Python scripts to pull/clean metadata from Reach Engine’s APIs and PostgreSQL DB, then create Avid MAM assets through MAM’s APIs.● Managed an Avid MediaCentral Cloud UX cluster and Avid MediaCentral Asset Management system. Upgraded both systems from 2019.9 to 2020.9 and latest patches. Optimized VM specs to make the best use of the available hardware and to meet Avid requirements.● Extensively tested MAM’s Python Engines and reported problems to Avid. Ran Python code in production for workflows using the Python AWS SDK’s.● Developed a MAM Process, SWoDL and Python scripts to ingest video/audio/image assets and metadata into Avid MAM, create a proxy and archive them to an S3 bucket.● Developed a MAM Process, SWoDL and Python scripts to initiate and monitor restores from S3 Glacier to on-prem storage for all Avid assets in an Adobe Premiere sequence. Restored files are added to MAM’s Cache so they can be locally restored next time.● Added code to allow outside partners to submit restores, but send them an email through AWS SES if they request footage they don’t have rights to.● Developed a MAM Process and SWoDL scripts to create a report for management to track the progress, speed and accuracy of loggers.
  • Golf Channel
    Lead Software Developer
    Golf Channel Jan 2019 - Dec 2020
    Orlando, Fl, Us
    ● Developed a Python script to migrate 1.5M assets from TGC’s Avid MAM system in Orlando, to NBCU’s Avid MAM system in Stamford, CT.● Performed extensive testing of VMware Horizon and Teradici PCoIP systems to quickly determine a WFH solution for our editors. After deciding on VMware Horizon, I did additional troubleshooting with our editors to optimize their experiences through tweaks on their WFH laptops and GPO parameters for the PCoIP clients.● Implemented a MSSQL DB and REST API in C# to track custom metrics for our MAM workflows. Built Tableau dashboards to display and provide insights into metrics.● Developed a MAM Process, SWoDL+PHP scripts, DB tables, API endpoints and Tableau dashboards to migrate 270k assets that only existed on LTO tapes in our PAM archive to Sony ODA cartridges in our MAM archive.● Developed a MAM Process and SWoDL scripts, and used the MAM Scheduling service, MAM search and some MAM attributes for tracking to automatically populate an additional 500TB of MAM Cache storage to keep as many of our most-used assets online as possible.● Developed a MAM Process, SWoDL+PHP scripts, DB tables, API endpoints and Tableau dashboards to export hires and a CSV file for all assets belonging to a customer to a QNAP NAS. I used the MAM Scheduling service to periodically start this process, which would search for any assets that were not already in process or complete, then start a new “Send Assets to” Process, which would then restore and/or rewrap the hires files as necessary, copy the Op-1a MXF to the NAS, then export a CSV file with the logged segments for the asset. I built an additional MSSQL table and a Tableau dashboard to track the progress of this project as well.● Worked with a small team to build an employee scheduling portal that interacts with ScheduALL and our corporate payroll system, using C#, ASPX, Javascript, HTML and MSSQL. This portal was originally built for TGC, but was later adapted for use by multiple NBC entities.
  • Golf Channel

    ● Released v2.0 of my restore/export workflow, which splits an EDL/sequence into individual assets and creates an individual sub-process for each one, resulting in a massive performance increase as restores and rewraps are handled in parallel.● Developed a Business Process and SWoDL scripts to provide a customized archival workflow for UHD/4k+ assets, that archives the entire camera card, maintaining the original folder structure and all metadata files; archives an “editing” quality DNxHR LB file; associates all masterclip assets with a camera card object; parses EXIF other metadata from ARRI and RED raw files.
  • Golf Channel
Principal Media Asset Management Software Engineer
    Golf Channel Jul 2016 - Jul 2018

    ● Developed a Business Process and SWoDL scripts to provide a restore/export workflow customized to Golf Channel’s specific business needs and MAM/PAM environments. The workflow allows users to send a MAM EDL or PAM sequence to one of our three PAM workgroups or to one of over 20 FTP and SMB destinations. The workflow determines ISIS/MAM online availability for all segments, DIVA restore media availability for any assets requiring restore, prompts operators to insert media with a user task in UX and integrates with Golf Channel’s in-house Media Services portal, providing workflow status updates for user requests and prompts for restore media insertion.● Customized our MAM EWC configuration and workflow to suit Golf Channel’s specific business needsby adding Resource Manager pools to schedule hires essence transfers from AMS to MAM to occuroutside normal business hours, to prevent delays in critical AMS to ISIS transfers.

    ● Developed a system to convert ~700,000 IPV proxies from MXF-wrapped, CBR H.264 files toMP4-wrapped VBR H.264 files, for use in our Avid MAM system, using a combination of PowerShell,FFMPEG, PHP, Javascript, HTML and a MySQL DB. The system has a simple web page for monitoringand control of the 24 servers running a PowerShell script that gets job info from the DB and launchesFFMPEG encode jobs.● Migrated 720,000 assets from IPV Curator to our new Avid MAM system using PHP code to read fromIPV’s MySQL DB, then parse and send the data to our Avid MAM system through SOAP API calls. SOAPcalls to our Interplay PAM Archive were also used to gather AAF files and other information to store inMAM so that our migrated assets can be used in EDL’s and sent from MAM to PAM.● Customized Avid MAM SWoDL scripts to fit TGC’s workflow needs, to allow EDL’s with migrated assets to be sent from MAM to PAM, when the high-res essence exists only in the PAM Archive.● Customized Avid MAM Data Model and configuration to fit TGC’s data and usage requirements.● Worked with Sony and Front Porch Digital to develop, test and launch the first production Sony Optical Disc Petasite Library system with 26 drives in 2014. In 2015 we expanded the system to 7 full racks with 42 ODA drives, for a total online capacity of 5 PetaBytes.● Wrote custom DIVA TCL scripts for Sony ODA burn-in and reliability testing. After commissioning, another script for migrating assets from LTO to ODA storage groups.● Built and customized a wide variety of workflows for our IPV system using IPV’s WCF Process Designer, with a combination of IPV’s plugins and VB.NET code to process metadata and assets from our Avid PAM system.● Integrated a Brocade DCX 8510-8 with our 2 Brocade 5100 switches to build a redundant 8Gb merged fabric for all SAN, LTO, ODA and host connections throughout our facility.● Added an additional 228TB of Pillar Data storage and integrated a new 850TB Dell Compellent SAN/NAS system.
