HC Leon was a magazine subscription agency and specialist bookseller acquired by my father Merton Freeman in 1976. In trying to modernise the business, I carried out functions across the board. These included general management, sales and computer systems development. We sold the business to Mast Publications, a member of the ADvTECH Group.

A member of the Bidvest Group, I carried out the full financial function of this division. The business carried out warehousing and distribution of a wide range of products to the hospitality industry.
