In the following 5 years we effectively launched 11 product lines in South Africa as a start to the software business as we know it today.When Computer Associates went on its acquisition spree in the late 80's some of the product lines we represented at the time were bought by CA. We were forced by CA to set up a new company in South Africa - Compusons - to consolidate SA distribution of the full set of CA products.As sales director for Compusons we dominated the SA mainframe third party software market In 1996 a friend than asked me to join the newly formed USKO group to head-up the Software division - previously known as MB & Associates. At that time USKO software represented: Viasoft, SERENA, Sterling Software and Sterling Commerce & Business Objects...During a visit to Viasoft in Phoenix, Arizona I heard about a company called Continuus Software based in California which provide solutions in the software configuration management area. This lead me to Telelogic.In early 1999 General DIGITAL (Pty) Ltd was established as a vehicle to bring new exciting technology to South Africa......For 11 years General DIGITAL represented Telelogic (who acquired Continuus and were themselves acquired by IBM in 2007).
