Aerofoil concessions evaluation/buy-off, interfacing with the customer and our suppliers.Intermediate pressure compressor casing design and variable vane mechanism design.Tooling design to CE marking standard and writing of technical files (design calculations, operating manuals, risk assessments) for the assembly of aerospace development rigs.Advanced use of Unigraphics (UG) NX4 and NX6 CAD programs and the Windchill PLM system.Development of a detailed project plan including resourcing, ROM costing and time estimates for a test rig project proposal.Project monitoring and preparation/organisation for rig project milestone reviews.Managing small teams of engineering staff to meet review deadlines and delivery of technical documentation.

Thermal analysis - 3D modelling of the exhaust nozzle for a new large civil aircraft engine (using Patran and Pthermal software packages).Stress analysis - 3D stress and lifing analysis of compressor blades (using SC03 software package). Engine externals stress and vibration analysis using Patran and Nastran. Rig shaft 2D harmonic (non axisymmetric loading) analysis using ANSYS. Design - dynamic response investigation of the companies overspeed and fan blade off facility.

Design of neurological equipment, specifically surgical instruments for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). Design experience for injection moulding.

Main activity involved design and development of a 5-axis CMM scanning probe known as REVO; Heavily involved in the refinement of optics design and assembly processes of the stylus. Significant rapid prototyping experience using SLS, FDM and Stereolithography techniques. Laison between the design team and the prototype component manufacturing division. Development of product test plans for prototype environmental testing.
