The Strategic Command Center for Combatting Weapons of Mass Destruction mission is to lead CWMD integration and synchronization efforts. As a Senior Strategic Advisor to the Director, I was responsible to assist Countering WMD experts from across the U.S. Combatant Commands, OSD, the Joint Staff, the Military Services, U.S. Government agencies and key international partners in his role as the Global Synchronizer for CWMD, to advance progress on global CWMD campaign tasks, issues, and thinking for synchronizing DoD CWMD efforts throughout the U. S. Government and key partner nations. Countering WMD is a global mission that spans across our Geographic Combatant Commands, that necessitates synchronized ideas and planning.

The Standing Joint Force Headquarters for Elimination (SJFHQ-E) provided geographic combatant commanders the planning, intelligence and operational capability required in the event that they needed to eliminate a foreign nation’s WMDs and WMD programs. The headquarters worked in support of the president’s National Security Strategy to Combat Weapons of Mass Destruction in the hands of hostile states and terrorists. As a Senior Strategic Advisor, I assisted the Commanding General in ensuring that this full-time, trained joint command-and-control (C2) element was ready to integrate into forward deployed headquarters to help manage the elimination mission. The SJFHQ-E was intentionally designed to expand threat reduction activity to non permissive environments.
