Accountable for all materials handling, storage and inventory flows on site, within the Manufacturing areas and distribution of finished product to the customers (Plants and/ or Affiliates). This includes responsibility for incoming materials, effective management of warehouse operations, and replenishment to line (production staging), outbound logistics and adherence to customer service targets. Responsible for the management of all external transportation vendors/ contracts, new vendor selection and assessment in collaboration with Global Logistics. Responsible to monitor, update and assure Warehouse, Transportation, Labeling (where applicable) and Distribution functions are performed in compliance with Company policies, procedures and governmental requirements.

Manage and direct five departments within Logistics section, which include 76 union hourly, 8 weekly, and 14 exempt personnel. Responsible for servicing both production and non-production needs for Biotech (Vaccine), Consumer Health and Research at Pearl River plant site. Oversee the shipment of domestic and international finished goods totaling over 6 Billion tablets and between 20M to 25M syringes annually. Ensure that cGMP, Compliance and FDA regulations are incorporated in all related material supply distribution, production and quality processes within the Logistics organization. Responsible for Operating Budget’s of $9.5M; Inventory assets controlled exceed $45M; Capital assets controlled exceed $20M. World-class inventory accuracy of 99.9% for an 8,000-pallet location warehouse

Managed multiple areas including Planning, Bulk Warehousing and Dispensing/Weighing area. Responsible for planning and maintaining proper inventory levels of 80 finished good sku’s, 225 raw/intermediate materials to support production of 6.5 billion tablets per year of Consumer Health products. Coordinated new finished goods product launch in record time between Marketing, Manufacturing and Packaging. Finalized and implemented new skid weighing program and reduced weighing operation by 25% per batch.

Managed personnel, materials, equipment, resources and facilities to package finished bulk tablets to meet customer service demands for Consumer Health domestically and internationally. Manage 13 direct reports (exempt & weekly) and 112 union hourly employees. Packaged 7.2 billion tablets per year utilizing 80 sku’s. Selected, planned, installed and validated two (2) new high-speed packaging lines ($M 4.2) to meet the growing demands. Implemented SAP inventory system into Packaging as the “SAP Power User for Packaging”. Trained, monitored employee to ensure implementation was completed on time. Lead multiple Continuous Improvement teams including Capacity Team, Plant Communications Team, and Changeover Team. Changeovers were reduced by 25% over a 6-month period, which resulted in savings of $153k. Develop and monitor Departments budgets of $M 7.8. Provided leadership in identifying and achieving cost reductions by eliminating waste and driving down the cost conversion for Consumer Health Products

Manage and direct a staff of 21 hourly and 8 salaried personnel. Responsible for directing, coordinating proper efficient storage and timely shipments of domestic and international finished goods. Maintained inventory in multiple computer systems. Responsible for servicing Manufacturing, Research, Maintenance and other support groups within the Pearl River facility. Developed and implement controlled procedures to ship domestic finished goods to Distribution Centers and improve customer service levels. Streamlined process and reduced lead times for packing and shipping International orders. Key member of development team, which designed and tested 8M Order Processing and Warehouse Management computer system for both Shipping and Quarantine (QC) areas. Coordinated activities for several new product launches with Manufacturing, Planning, Quality Control and Distribution Centers. Implemented the use of full pallet over packs on international shipments and reduced labor and packaging costs by 30%. Installed Vacuum hoist lifting system for Biological Vaccine containers and improved productivity by 20% and reduced the potential for back injuries.
