Technical Engineering Manager Responsibilities:Oversaw technical quality and timeliness of all technical solutions for on multiple concurrent projects. Built great teams of 5-15 people by hiring the best people, mentoring junior staff and ensuring the team members get the right opportunities to grow. Designed, coded, and tested major subsystems in support of research, account management, back office, recruiting, finance, HR, and other buisness functions.Key Accomplishments: - Partnered with internal HR and Recruiting functions to build a central data store to allow a full picture of 'People' data. Included extracting, transforming, and mastering data from various external vendor systems, internal packages, and custom applications. - Oversaw Engineering Productivity group in research supporting 100+ developers. Led an effort to take the CI system with Python custom tooling and dramatically reduce the build time and build failure rates across the entire team. - Delivered and led the Data Integration Hub. The project facilitated Bridgewater's ability to outsource its backoffice function by untangling the tentacles the front and back office systems had to one another and creating a new hub by which that data could be exchange cleanly and reliably. - Partnered with finance team to build a new custom application to calculate, track, and reconcile 'chargeback' fees. Also further evolved general 'fees' application to improve its accuracy and usability. - Led a team of 6 developers to implement and integrate a new collateral management system within Bridgewater. - Headed a tech team that was 'lifted out' as part of the back-office outsourcing effort that Bridgewater undertook.
