o Manage & motive a team of permanent members of Production staff effectively in order to achieve production targets, quality standards and delivery deadlines. o Manage a variable team of production staff (agency) effectively to achieve production targets, quality standards and delivery deadlines. o Liaise with other departments such as, Technical, NPD, Engineering, Warehousing, Planning, HR and H&S. o Assist with the planning process of orders and planning dispatching of products. o Minimise production costs where applicable through effective use of manpower, equipment, facilities and raw materials. o Conduct training in a timely manner in order to reduce litigation risks. o Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments & processes. o Manage spending against budget, controlling spending in relation to changes in production volume. o Ensure production schedules are planned and adhered to and planning working rotas for staff and organising agency staff, where applicable. o Ensuring products are produced correctly and safely in accordance with health and safety procedures (especially chemicals and food that maybe dangerous). o Daily management of production KPI's and reporting information into the General Manager. o Ensuring relevant paperwork and checks are completed in line with company procedures. o Ensure food safety legislation and guidelines as well as company policies are adhered to. o To adhere to and promote best practice in accordance with company health, safety and quality regulations. o To ensure GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered

To create, and lead, the implementation of the Operational Excellence strategy; developing operational reviews, root cause analysis, 5S, Lean, SOP’s, visual standards and asset care.• Own the methodology behind MCRS, ensuring the tools, techniques and behaviours are embedded at every level.• Facilitate generation and review of Factory Master Plan.• Govern, train, coach and assess Operational Excellence principles across the factory. Building capability within core operations.• Liaise with other functions (Safety, Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Finance etc.) to understand functional priorities and the support Operational Excellence can offer in delivering functional objectives.• Be an ambassador for Root Cause Analysis methodology through training, coaching and facilitation techniques.• Benchmark performance against similar internal and external process to identify improvement opportunities.• Play a fundamental role in building problem solving capability across the site.• Provide and develop problem solving tools and techniques.• Embedding a continuous improvement philosophy in all approaches to work.• Delivery of improvement projects to given timescales/plan

I started Nestle at 16 joining on a National Traineeship. For 2 years I worked across different production plants building my knowledge of the process and cultures of a factory. I then settled in production working my way up to a lead position which involved FI projects and coaching the teams on new ways of working. This got me noticed and soon I was training to move into management. My first Shift Manager position came in May 2011, supporting a team of 42 employees ranging from new starters to highly skilled technical craftsman. I quickly developed into a manager with a growing reputation. I am now a Shift Manager in the Supply chain and testing myself in a very different environment.
