Port Engineer Deputy Program Manager

The primary role of the Deputy Program Manager is to manage the overall strategic development in support of the Port Engineering Program. Our Port Engineers provide waterfront maintenance engineering support services to U.S. Navy surface ships as well as the Regional Maintenance Commands and U.S. Fleet Forces Command. The primary function of this role is to routinely validate shipboard conditions through personal observation and evaluation. They validate work requests, assign preliminary estimates, and plans prioritized work packages within budget and time constraints for TYCOM approval. In addition, Port Engineers review work specifications, coordinate schedules with repair activities, oversee repairs, and provide inputs for all maintenance funding decisions. The Port Engineers provide risk assessment and prioritization to the vessel’s commanding officer using the approved TYCOM format of all on and off ship maintenance requirements. They recommend the most efficient and economical levels of maintenance based on cost, quality, timelines and budgetary constraints.
