I was just one of twelve international applicants chosen as part of the inaugural crew of the Disney Magic. A diverse and talented, we became the first to install a fully integrated digital photo laboratory within the cruise ship industry. I photographed 800 - 1000 images per day without any days off for six months at a time. Every dinner sitting, character event, VIP and location was photographed daily. Promoted to Lab Manager in my second contract, scheduling and liaising with all the ships departments and Staff Captain was required and had to run smoothly. Representation of the Disney standards of customer care had to be maintained at all times despite the heat, hours worked or rough seas.

Late three times and they flew you home. Store stock control, cleanliness and appearance was maintained to an exacting standard. Other duties included making restaurant reservations, shuttle pickup requests and scheduling of a guests day was required. All Disney staff were trained for a solid two week period before being given a name badge.
