I help attorneys and other professionals share their stories, communicate their unique differentiators and demonstrate their expertise with targeted reporters and media outlets.

I get major regional and national media exposure for companies, products and individuals, with a specialty in the legal community. I routinely get clients columns, profiles and expert quotes in major media. I directed a Los Angeles-based, national agency that offers traditional media relations (legal, corporate, entertainment and startup) as well as a crisis management team with victim advocates who've been on the other side of the story and truly know what it's like to go through the worst imaginable crisis. These folks have the experience, training and connections to help in ways that others can't. We most recently expanded into Seattle, where we have a full-time team on the ground.

As a staff writer in the Los Angeles bureau of People, I reported news, crime, legal affairs and entertainment stories across the country. I ran or was the lead reporter on several major stories, including the Aurora, Newtown and UCSB shootings, Jaycee Dugard, Jodi Arias, Paul Walker, the Montana Newlywed murder and the Anna Nicole Smith saga in the Bahamas. In addition to having a story nearly every week in the magazine, I also averaged several stories a week on People.com (examples of both below). The online items were updates to stories in the magazine, as well as stories not in the magazine at all. Some stories included photos that I shot, and video interviews that I recorded and conducted.I specialized in parachuting into a national crime story and getting exclusive interviews that helped make the story compelling and unique. I was also frequently called upon to run stories that involved coordinating six to 10 reporters across the country.I participated in projects across the magazine, including multiple stories on Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Anne Hathaway, Cory Monteith, Eva Longoria, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and, yes, Kim Kardashian.I also over the years did Heroes Among Us stories, medical stories, Where Are They Now, music, book reviews and events coverage, including various award shows and red carpets.Skills that I developed that can transcend to other positions in media and media relations include:- Worked with a cross-functional, multi-office collaborative team;- Detail-oriented, highly organized and responsible;- Experienced in the use of InCopy, InDesign and Microsoft Office for writing and editing;- Developed relationships with reporters at various media outlets across the country;- Create video content via several programs for the web and mobile devices;- Use social media sites to promote my work and attract followers; and,- Work well and creatively under pressure and able to meet aggressive deadlines.

Covered courts beat for a daily newspaper. Followed criminal and civil cases, profiled judges and other key figures, reported on major trials on tight deadline. Won a Los Angeles Press Club award for column writing. Wrote “A Private Practice,” a true-crime book.

Helped run city desk, directing 10 reporters. Job included assigning and editing stories, coaching writers, laying out pages, coordinating writers, photographers and designers, recruiting and hiring staff and overseeing special projects for daily newspaper in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Managed editorial employees, helped oversee and edit larger stories and late-breaking stories for the city’s second-largest daily newspaper.

I started in the daily newspaper's smallest bureau, in Glendale, covering courts, and after three months was moved to a higher profile position, covering county government. I moved on to cover state politics and higher education before being promoted to Night City Editor.

Regular contributor to The New York Times' Long Island Section, in the Sunday edition. Reported and wrote features and hard news stories on various subjects in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Also contributed photographs.
