I am a servant leader of a team of engineers who focus on delivering 'First Responder' software features for Raymarine's numerous first responder and government agency customers around the world. I am the technical focal point and technical authority for both of the US Coast Guard contracts Raymarine have won in recent years. I was heavily involved in both tender submissions and have regularly had to fulfil the project manager and product owner roles during the numerous software deliveries.Scrum mastering lends itself to be a perfect parallel function to the system / product architect role I also fulfil.My main day to day activities as a scrum master are; holding the daily stand ups and unblocking any team members, reporting dependencies and blockers at the release train meeting, chairing the teams retrospective meeting, enabling the team to spend quality time estimating future work, maintaining backlogs, planning future sprints, holding CCBs and bug scrubs.Regular communication with the product owners is a key part to succeeding and I always have them involved and kept up to date.In addition to my day to day to activities I have also written numerous policies & process around the job role of scrum mastering. In addition to this I have provided directives for how multiple teams should approach code branching and trunking.

My core responsibility is to aid in the delivery of new products to the marine electronic market. In order to do this, it's vital I continuously liaise with all members of the project team, from the product and project managers to the hardware, software and mechanical engineers and then onto the industrialisation teams and in some instances even the end customer.If there is a technical solution needed, it is my responsibility to research the issue, make recommendations and/or bring the correct team members together and ensure an outcome is reached to keep the project from missing its deadline.Accurate records of the product requirements both locally and system wide formulates in multiple specifications that live with the product from conception to retirement.To do this job well, its imperative that I'm flexible allowing me to work on multiple projects concurrently, that both my written and verbal communications changes depending on the audience and that I speak up when alternative options are available.

A hybrid role of product development and supporting sales regions with technical proposals, not to dissimilar from a 'Product Champion'.The development work is split between downhole instrumentation such as, Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) and Pressure / Temperature gauges along with surface side setup, consisting of cellular communication and junction box configuration (both hardware and software).Tender submissions and commercializing of products includes creating and maintaining an internal software tool used to generate proposals and quotes in just a few minutes. It also serves as an easy way to ensure sales teams have up to date pricing and a complete list of products.Another major aspect of my role is internal training of all products in the product line to all new employees.

Gosport

I was responsible for architecting and overseeing the development of several software packages. The softwares were mainly focused at the displaying, modeling and storing of large data sets enabling easier and more accurate near wellbore data interpretation.Along with increasing the charting and visualization ability of the tool, the role was to increase the calculation engine in the software. I was able to take the software tools through several major versions and as a result, I was able to dramatically improve the accuracy of the modeled results.Another major job role was to train clients on the use of the software to extract useable information (from their data) hidden within. This was carried out through interpretation reports and onsite training.
