With a decade of experience as an Art/Design Teacher and Yearbook Manager, Joe Howard is passionate about inspiring others to unleash their creativity and to apply design thinking principles to their professional & personal challenges. Joe has introduced & developed innovative courses in Graphic Design, Photography, and AP Art, using the Adobe Creative Suite as a core tool. He has also spearheaded his school's migration to Standards Based Grading, a model that aligns assessment with learning goals & feedback. He has been recognized by his peers on multiple occasions, receiving awards for his excellence & collaboration as an educator and a designer (including the "teacher of the year" award).As a graphic designer with more than 20 years of experience, Joe has not only overseen countless projects for his school (including overall brand management, numerous collateral materials, a major web site redesign, and maintaining the school's social media presence), but also several freelance projects for dozens of clients across different industries. Joe's mission is to foster creativity and innovation through art & design, and to empower students & colleagues to explore new possibilities, develop problem-solving skills, and express themselves authentically.
