Grand Arcade Shopping Centre - Wigan

Managed a 450,00sq ft shopping centre in Wigan, including the daily operations of the centre. Implemented all shopping centre contracts, preventive planned maintenance, soft services documentation, procurement, health and safety, training of in-house staff, service charge budgets ,marketing and promotions,customer services,tenant liaison and all other aspects of a modern shopping centre on opening in March 2007. Consulted with new tenants and shop fitters who undertook complete shop fits from shell units to live tenancies. • Studied for two years and attained Diploma in Shopping Centre Management from the British Council of Shopping Centres at Reading University.• Largely contributed to launching a brand new shopping centre from building phase into a fully operational shopping centre, implementing all the systems from scratch

Promoted to Leading Marine Engineering Mechanic in August 1994.I was principally responsible for the day to day running of a Royal Navy warship engine room in charge of a team of six, maintaining and watch-keeping on all running machinery, holding specific authority for engine room inspections, safety and fire drills.
