Rail Program Delivery - Develop, monitor and control a program of related rail signalling, power, fleet and infrastructure projects delivered by different transport agencies for Sydney's heavy rail network.

Aurecon provides engineering, management and specialist technical services for public and private sector clients globally. I led a team of mechanical engineers and drafters to deliver projects to our clients in the Energy, Resources and Manufacturing sectors. I was responsible for the engineering management and project leadership of multiple projects as well as winning work for my team. This was a client facing role where I used project management skills and technical knowledge of engineering (specialising in bulk materials handling) to deliver multi-disciplinary projects and studies. I was accountable for the utilisation of my team and their ongoing professional development. I also delivered internal project leadership training based on PMBOK principles.Projects I have been involved in include master plan development and option studies for NCIG coal terminal (Newcastle), transport studies for Origin Energy, option costing for the Lend Lease F3-M2 project, concept to feasibility studies for PWCS T4 coal export terminal (Newcastle), port planning studies for iron ore & manganese for South Africa, machine studies for Port Kembla Coal Terminal, assisting with operating consent renewal for Ravensdown Fertilizer (NZ) and transport studies and NPV analysis for Anglo American Coal.

In this role I designed bulk materials handling systems to provide solutions to clients as well as performing concept - feasibility studies of design options and working with clients on-site to diagnose problems. A major achievement was my role as Lead Materials Handling Engineer for Stage 1 construction of the NCIG export terminal in Newcastle responsible for final design deliverables. I have also been involved in consulting work for coal handling at Port Kembla & Abbot Point, various coal mines, cement manufacturers and power stations.

Aker Kvaerner is a global engineering and technology provider to the oil and gas industry. This was a short term contract role specifying process equipment for BIOX extraction of gold for the Fosterville Gold Mine in Bendigo, VIC.

As a Project Engineer with Bechtel, I worked in a number of roles on construction projects in the mining and metals industry around Australia. I undertook a number of construction supervision, engineering design, contract management and quality assurance roles. Projects included expansion of Newcastle's PWCS KCT Coal Export Terminal, Inco Goro Nickel Project (New Caledonia), Century Zinc Mine & Portsite (far north Qld), Comalco Alumina Refinery (Gladstone) and Bell Bay Dry Scrubbing Project (Tasmania).

Minenco supplied engineering & project management services to Rio Tinto mines, prior to its sale to Bechtel. I was responsible for technical specifications and design calculations for conveyor equipment; undertook construction supervision at Bell Bay Alumina Smelter (TAS) and worked on a crusher upgrade at Argyle Diamond mine (WA).
