Howard Rothberg is a Managing Director with over 30 years of experience in the institutional markets and nearly 21 years at J.P. Morgan’s Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB). Over the last five years at J.P. Morgan, Howard was co-head of Global Credit, Securitized Products (SPG) and Public Finance Sales (Spread Sales) and head of Americas Sales. He served as a member of the CIB’s Global Sales & Marketing management committee and was Supervisory Principal for Americas. As co-head of Global Spread Sales, he managed the teams that deliver these products to corporate and institutional clients. During Howard’s tenure, J.P. Morgan achieved a meaningful acceleration in market share in these businesses, as well as a growing wallet. Howard led the businesses through transformational technological changes, rapid product/market innovations and accretive regional expansion. Additionally, as head of Americas Sales, Howard was responsible for the client strategy, key relationships, and all aspects of managing the largest region and best-in-class business.Howard is a leader and was actively involved in the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts, driving both internal education and external networking events. Prior to joining JPM in 2003, Howard spent nine years at Morgan Stanley and four years at Citibank (two of which were in Leveraged Finance banking). Howard earned his MBA in Finance/Strategic Management at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He began his career as a practicing Certified Public Accountant after graduating from the University at Buffalo. Howard and his wife of 30+ years have three grown children.
