Sandy Howard is the Founder and Managing Director of AVD Australia, a company recognised as being one of the only fully vertically integrated companies involved in the advanced home automation and systems integration market in Australia. AVD provides a full in-house service for the home automation market including needs analysis through design and documentation to full implementation of systems. The company has been recognised by its peers and associations with many awards since its inception in 1987 and is considered to be one of the early founders of the home automation industry. In the early days dating back to 1987 AVD developed Australia’s first multi room audio and control system called the AVD System 2000.Sandy is skilled in the application of sustainable environments through the deployment of smart technology and systems integration with results recognised in awards from the industry.As an electronic systems analyst and designer, Sandy was recognised by his industry peers with the prestigious Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000Sandy was the co-author of the industries first ‘White Paper’ entitled 'The Architects Guide to Home Automation' a step by step methodology for undertaking Home Automation projects.
