TEKBILT inc. was a small manufacturer of coin-operated games. Historically focused on gaming machines, the company branched out into the amusement game industry and brought me on to manage the technical documentation, coordinate software development with overseas developers, maintain the company website and develop content for their trivia product.

At the time, Interactive Multimedia Group was a small Internet-based technology company specializing in providing Web design and programming services to small to medium-sized businesses. I was responsible for developing HTML frameworks in an ASP environment, converting existing materials into website content, advising clients on content development, writing instructions for administrative software functions and helping clients market their websites.

Merit Industries was, at the time, the premier maker of bar top video games. I was responsible for creating and maintaining all technical documentation, including user manuals, technical bulletins and internal technical documentation. I also provided training to other employees to help familiarize them with the products. As the company grew, causing a need to enlarge the department, I became the manager of additional technical writers. In this capacity, and in an effort to improve company communications using the latest technology, I created a company intranet that was used long after I left. I created the HTML framework, created the file structure and added all of the initial content.

I was responsible for collecting and editing trivia questions and answer to be used in the company's coin-operated video game. Several trivia database updates were made throughout the year, requiring a continuous collection of new questions and answers, under deadline. I was also responsible for hiring all freelance trivia writers, editing their questions for format, mistakes and humor, as well as managing payment for these writers.
