Micromoment is an app that presents geo-sensorial place insight for urbanites to find their moments (time) and respites (place) of calm and clarity. The app can reconcile our sense ratio with dynamic data and place insight to help the city and its people become better aware of their surroundings. We all have different sensitivity to various stimuli and have varying tolerance with our senses. Micromoment has the capacity to reshape the entire city by activating tiny corners, intimate spots, and creative uses of public space, to transform our streetscape that empowers our inner mindful radar to motivate healthier habits and higher quality of living.

Softwalks is an urban design project that seeks to activate sidewalk sheds, by converting this unsightly and underutilized construction scaffolding into usable and more pleasant public spaces. These urban “parklets” are simply improved by the addition of foldable seating, narrow work surfaces, planters, screens and even light diffusers. The three main ideas Softwalks is built on are: small changes equal big effects, innovation, even incremental, can be found within existing infrastructure, and placemaking is a top urban design strategy for people’s and a city's social, mental and physiological well-being.

Combining fieldwork, design studio and liberal arts instruction, and applied project-based research, the program embodies the mission of civic engagement at the New School. Students in the program creatively reimagine the many roles of the urban designer, often inspired by their experience of living and studying in New York City.

Created a system with instruction and prompts and designed a tool that enables students to have small, mobile multidimensional personal spaces establishing innovative points of entry into learning, research projects, and studying.

Researched case studies and potential presenters for the City of Montreal of Unsitely! Leveraging Design to Improve Urban Construction Sites, a colloquium planned to take place at the Center for Architecture on October 8-9 2014.The question we ask— Can design improve our individual and collective experience, and the overall communication strategy of major worksites, or, at least, contribute to reduce their negative impact on the daily lives of commerces, residents and visitors?
