About Howdang Rashid
My goal is to educate people on the Power Platform, so they can reap the huge benefits I know it can offer them. I build and share custom solutions driven from my experiences in international, medium, and small start-up companies to save you time, and allow you to encourage sizeable change in your businesses.Working in Mondelez gave me exposure to an international company. Being able to make large scale changes to processes used in both R&D and Manufacturing departments through the Power Platform, allowed me to harness and expand my skills. After people saw the technology I'd developed, they wanted it for their departments also, so I had many people asking me to re-create the same solutions. Understanding current priorities, I hosted a detailed presentation to interested parties in the company, advocating for the benefits of the Power Platform. During my time at Mondelez, I was fortunate enough to land a contract with a competitive start-up specialising in the care industry and providing solutions through the Power Platform stack. I was responsible for researching and understanding the capabilities of Power Pages and developing an Asset Management Canvas App using Power Apps. This was an eye-opening experience as I learned to adapt to fast paced environments and moulded to different roles throughout my time. After my contract had ended, I found myself back at University studying in my final year. I was fortunate enough to find a role with Thrive Tribe (my current company), joining at a time where they were starting to adopt the Dataverse and Power Platform Stack. As a result, I had a lot of exposure to infrastructure development, and freedom to explore new technologies such as the AI Builder. Understanding the problems the company faced with their manual document processing activities, I was eager to bring this to the attention of decision makers. With this, I am currently working on building our Power Platform infrastructure at Thrive Tribe, while developing solutions with Microsoft's AI Builder to solve the data-scraping issues. In my spare time, I like to blog about Power Platform Solutions in my series #SolutionSunday and have also created an online course geared towards helping people understand the Power Platform and getting them started on their journeys. I have expanded my Power Platform knowledge through accredited Microsoft Certifications, holding the AZ-900, PL-900, PL-100, PL-200, and MB-910 certifications currently. Please connect if you think you'd find any of this content useful, and I look forward to seeing you around :)

I was fortunate enough to find my place at Thrive Tribe as a Junior Power Platform Developer, working part-time alongside my studies. When I started at Thrive Tribe, the company was still in its early stages of adopting the Power Platform. Whilst applications such as Power Automate and Dynamics 365 were being used, requirements arose that needed these applications to be utilised more effectively, leading to the creation of the Power Platform team I had become a part of. With the creation of a new team, adjustments had to be made to business processes to align the newer Power Platform team with the existing Pro-Code team. I had the privilege of working with Product Teams to ensure the delivery of services and essentially build the Power Platform infrastructure from the ground up. It was a great opportunity to participate in these conversations, and I gained exposure to how Power Platform Development environments are formulated and maintained. My responsibilities evolved over time, allowing me to pick up new skills such as JavaScript to extend the Power Platform, and advanced RPA techniques for Power Automate. It was at Thrive Tribe where my experiences from both Mondelez International and CarePoint365 really came together.
Power Platform Developer | Digital Services Intern
One of my first professional experiences was at Mondelez International where I was hired as a Digital Services Assistant during my placement year. I was lucky enough to have my contract extended and stayed on from June 2022 to August 2023. The role involved many different aspects of the Microsoft tech stack, from Excel, Power Apps, SharePoint, and even legacy technologies such as InfoPath. It was here that I discovered the Power Platform. Being given a business problem by my line manager regarding a form management system that was being retired rather soon, I was responsible to find a solution. After doing some internal research within the company and understanding the technology available to us, I decided that the Power Platform (more specifically a combination of Canvas Apps, Power Automate Flows, and SharePoint Online) was the best solution. It was at this point I began the development of my first Power Platform project, building a form management system from start to finish, and collaborating with the stakeholders involved. When others caught wind of what I was doing, they wanted the same for their departments. Due to the length of my contract I was unable to help them all at the time, so instead delivered a presentation on the Power Platform, generating excitement around low code technology and encouraging citizen development. I was fascinated by the Power Platform and Microsoft stack, so begun building my skills and deepening my knowledge, studying and achieving the AZ-900, PL-900, and PL-100 Certifications. It was at this point I embraced my passion for the Power Platform, and have been building my skills within the Microsoft stack ever since.
Junior Power Platform Developer
After discovering my passion for the Power Platform, I was looking for further opportunities to develop my skills. I was fortunate enough to discover CarePoint365, a competitive start-up specialising in technology solutions within the care industry, using predominantly the Power Platform.During my time at CarePoint365, I was responsible for two main projects:- Using Power Apps to develop a Canvas App prototype for Asset Management in care homes. This app worked with barcodes and RFID tags to read assets, and allowed users to edit details on those assets, which was then written to the Dataverse.- Exploring Power Pages to understand its capabilities and resources required to implement it within the business' infrastructure. Working for a start-up company, things moved very quickly on a daily basis, so I had to learn to be agile and adapt to the dynamic environment. I wore many hats, from designer, developer, interviewer, and project manager, giving me the opportunity to grow and develop many different skills across the board. It was also at CarePoint365 that we were required to ensure projects were being delivered in a timely manner, and consequently I was introduced to the world of Agile methodologies and software such as Azure Dev Ops to manage this. Working within a very small team of 6 people, time was of the essence, so it was necessary to align on the work being conducted through daily stand-ups, and weekly reviews. It was truly valuable to get this exposure while still at University, which I believe was a crucial step for both my personal and professional development.
