I have broad working experience in both the private and public sectors. I spent the early years of my career in the finance industry taking on both marketing and credit control roles. The subsequent years spent in the public sector have greatly helped to hone my skills in the areas of problem solving and critical thinking, communication and project management. In addition, I have also been a volunteer with children from disadvantaged background for more than a decade. While my passion to work with underprivileged children has not waned over the years, I am grateful to be given the opportunity to look into the needs of Singapore's ageing population in my current job. Despite being at opposite ends of the age spectrum, I am intrigued to discover that seniors and children do have plenty in common and the mutual benefits from the intergenerational interactions between these two groups.
