As a partner at DOit SA, I've been part of an incredible journey. We started from the ground up and have grown to serve over 300 enterprise customers. Our team has expanded from just a handful of us to more than 20 dedicated employees. One of our significant milestones was crossing the first million (R$) in annual revenue, largely driven by organic growth. In 2014, we expanded into the US market, reaching a new audience and accelerating our personal and business growth.

As CTO at DOit SA, I led a diverse team of internal and external developers. We built new modules for our ERP, specifically designed for the US pharmaceutical industry. Our work helped these companies comply with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA). This included everything from localization and T3 traceability to integration via EDI. We also streamlined the receiving, picking, packing, and shipping process with the use of barcode scanning.I was responsible for defining a service-oriented architecture based on an enterprise service bus (Mule) and message queues, which allowed us to integrate our ERP with a variety of other systems in a loosely coupled way. These included payment gateways, tax systems, e-commerce platforms, and shipping companies. To ensure a smooth onboarding process for new developers, I developed a training program that covered our company's tech stack, methodologies, and core principles. I implemented a development process based on a blend of Scrum, Kanban, and Basecamp's Shape Up practices that resulted in a lead time of less than 10 days for new features. I also took charge of the customer care and support team, establishing clear SLAs, metrics, and customer-centric strategies. Through these efforts, we managed to reduce the number of tickets by 42% in less than a year, while simultaneously increasing the number of tickets solved on time from 38% to 79%.On the technical side, I've also worked on infrastructure as code using Ansible and developed the WOTracing framework to help diagnose performance issues on WebObjects applications. By integrating it with Datadog, we gained real-time insights into our ERP's performance in production, enabling us to optimize the system to accommodate the demands of our rapidly growing customers. In 2014, I had the opportunity of presenting at WOWODC, where I shared my experience on dependency injection using WOInject.
  • Doit Sa
    Software Engineer
    Doit Sa Aug 2008 - Aug 2013
    São Paulo, Sp, Br
As a software developer at DOit SA, I had the opportunity to develop a web-based ERP from scratch for small and midsize businesses, using Java and WebObjects. I was part of the early adopters of cloud computing, transitioning to AWS in its initial stages. One of my significant achievements was implementing integration with the Brazilian government's tax system in record time, helping our customers meet government deadlines. I also worked on a project to develop the software for managing the loyalty program of one of Brazil's top three largest e-commerce companies. In 2013, I spoke at WOWODC about unit testing with WOUnit. Additionally, I created an open-source framework, WOInject (based on Google Guice), introducing the concept of dependency injection to WebObjects applications.
  • Zougue Mpms
    Chief Technology Officer
    Zougue Mpms Jul 2022 - Dec 2023
I led a team of developers to build a new version of our company's product, which included a seller center and product information management system to help our customers build better marketplace catalogs effortlessly. Our tech stack included Clojure, Datomic, ClojureScript, Reagent, and Re-frame. We've embraced an API-first approach, defining a single API used by both the front-end and third-party integrations, streamlining our development process, and facilitating integration with other trading partners. On the infrastructure side, I've configured the infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible, enhancing manageability and enabling our team to focus on the product. As our CEO has repeatedly emphasized, "The seller's catalog is distinct from the marketplace's catalog". One of the key features I've worked on was the VTEX integration, where we extracted, transformed, and loaded curated catalog data back to VTEX, allowing our customers to consolidate multiple sellers and products into a single unified catalog that can be used across multiple marketplaces.
  • Moleque De Ideias
    Software Engineer
Moleque De Ideias Jul 2021 - Jul 2022

I had the opportunity to work on the payments orchestration platform for one of Brazil's top three largest e-commerce companies. One of my key responsibilities was setting up load tests to measure the platform's performance. For this, I used tools like JMeter and Java Flight Recorder. I've also used WireMock to simulate the behavior of external services under normal and exceptional scenarios. I helped optimize the platform to handle twice the expected transactions per second, supporting peak traffic during Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Christmas without any bottlenecks. More importantly, we achieved this without increasing the infrastructure.I also developed a simple yet powerful rule-based system to route payments across multiple payment gateways based on sales order characteristics, which could not only increase conversion rates but also save our customers money. Another significant project I worked on was adapting the application to migrate from Oracle to SQL Server, particularly, adapting the application's JDBC plugin to work as expected with SQL Server.
  • Moleque De Ideias
    Software Engineer
    Moleque De Ideias 2003 - 2008
    Niterói, Rj, Br
I built desktop and web applications for both private and public sector customers, leveraging Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Extreme Programming. My empirical analysis of Test-Driven Development in real-world projects highlighted the advantages of writing tests first, forming the foundation of my master's thesis. I started an open-source initiative promoting the use of Maven for building WebObjects projects, helping me become a committer for the WOLips and Wonder projects and a speaker at WOWODC 2009. I also developed an open-source framework, WOUnit, to facilitate testing of WebObjects applications.
  • Laboratório De Engenharia De Software Da Puc-Rio
    Researcher
Laboratório De Engenharia De Software Da Puc-Rio 2004 - 2005
During my time at PUC-Rio's Software Engineering Lab, I had the opportunity to conduct research and experiments in Object-Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, and Test-Driven Development. This experience allowed me to collaborate with Ph.D. and Master's students, enriching my understanding of the field. Thanks to my mentors, I was able to gain a solid foundation in software engineering, with a particular focus on software quality.
