I envision and drive the technology strategy for Savant Systems’ products with the aim of creating a clear competitive advantage for our suite of intelligent solutions. In a flexible revenue-driving role, I spearhead R&D, prototyping, and development, as well as supporting mergers and acquisitions and the development of new business and partnerships, including negotiations. My work has taken me to various customer meetings, conferences, expos, and trade shows, where I explain how our technology works, demonstrate its power, and highlight its valuable features.TOP SUCCESSES:◉ Attracted new potential partners and customers by implementing and leading rapid prototyping capabilities. Prototypes are leveraged for product and usability testing, demonstrations, and manufacturing. ◉ Showcasing our cutting-edge portfolio, I’ve helped secure 11 strategic partnerships with 7 closed in 2 years for a 63% closure rate. I also determine and negotiate the technical boundaries within partnerships and support the COO and Legal Counsel during contract discussions.

Along with handling all the various facets of business management, I head technology research and engineering consulting engagements, as well as proceeding with product development for initiatives started at Oregon State University. The wide range of client and grant-funded projects includes prototyping, R&D, manufacturing, design for manufacturing, solution architecture, product engineering, and software and hardware development.

Racepoint Energy was merged into Savant Systems, and operated as the wholly-owned subsidiary, Savant Power, for almost a year. I had been the CTO for Racepoint Energy and became the CTO for Savant PowerI spearheaded the product innovation strategy, guiding the engineering team through R&D, prototyping, and platform architecture development for intelligent power management products. At the same time, I was tasked with integrating the technology aspects of Racepoint Energy, oversaw brand-labeled and third-party partnerships, and managed the integration of software and architecture, following M&A.TOP SUCCESSES:◉ Bridged disparate company cultures and unified the technology organization during the integration of teams, products, and systems. I drove extensive change management and championed common goals and shared successes. As part of integrating systems, I decommissioned the Racepoint slack instance and led the merger of software repositories and CI/CD pipelines.

I was one of the founding team members in the start-up stage and played a pivotal role in building out a suite of solutions that still drive Savant’s business today. I was recruited to strategize the business model and develop the intellectual product portfolio. Soon after joining the company, the CEO chose me to direct the Cloud Services team for the Savant Systems contract. I researched and developed novel solutions to common challenges encountered by domain scientists, such as massive increases in dataset size and complexity. I also fostered industry relationships and supervised Graduate Research Assistants.TOP SUCCESSES:◉ Steered 2 graduate students to develop an IoT sensor platform, "Sensor Stream" – the underpinning for Racepoint's IoT cloud platform and utility portal, still used at Savant Systems.◉ Applied Apple's Swift open-source language to program processors for the U.S. Navy’s Autonomous Underwater Vehicle. Apple showcased the development in its Platforms State of the Union.

KEY ACHIEVEMENT:◉ Developed Distributed OpenCL as a tool for domain scientists to express their workflows. I used Distributed OpenCL to assemble ad-hoc and opportunistic clusters of compute nodes, develop communication and computation cost matrices, and auto-schedule user workflows.
