Dual-qualified under the laws of California and England & Wales, I've focused on managing an international boutique law firm, drawing on our team's broad array of legal experience,to help companies growing globally. My firm also has additional lawyers licensed in California, Colorado, New Jersey, England & Wales, as well as German trained lawyer now practicing in NY. One of our greatest strengths is the large legal network we've acquired over years of practice worldwide. For most of my legal career, I've represented a diverse group of clients, from technology companies to companies in the event planning space. My career began as a litigator at a large multi-national law firm, where I worked on cutting-edge cases involving defending the media's first amendments rights, as well as litigating cases involving software and intellectual property law. I then served as General Counsel of Digidesign for fourteen years, starting as Digidesign's first lawyer and growing not only a legal department but also a family of technology companies. In that role, I worked closely with the business development team and third-party partners. As of January, 2009, I launched a law firm, RafterMarsh US, which keeps me connected to the world of hardware and software technology but also expands my scope to companies focused on the interplay between media and technology, live events and e-commerce. RafterMarsh provides general advice for companies looking for part-time "general counsel." We specialize in handling licensing and IP matters for technology companies. If European and music licensing expertise is needed, I work closely with Terry Marsh of RafterMarsh UK and Phiilipp Lengeling (RafterMarsh U.S., based in Hamburg and NY). I also am a qualified solicitor to practice in England & Wales.Specialties: service agreements, Intellectual property law, technology licensing, ecommerce/online contracting (terms and conditions, privacy policies), contract manufacturing, software and hardware development agreements, mergers and acquisitions (asset deals. due diligence), employment law, leases, live events and dispute resolution.
