A country singer, psychologist, HR training leader & accountant. A small sampling of what I wanted to be when I grew up. My college freshman orientation at Michigan State was the first time I heard of "supply chain." An intro class planted the seed to my career. And, in many ways, I've brought the childhood aspirations into one: a data diva, a chaos coordinator, a performing presenter, and an empathic leader. My beginning supply chain roots started in procurement. I loved solving the puzzle of how to negotiate for better, faster & less. I found my home though in Supply Chain Network Design. I flourished delivering cost savings analytics, managing projects, implementing solutions, designing strategies & leading people. I was eager to apply my operational learnings from Transportation, Warehousing, Sales & Operations Planning, and Customer Service into a holistic solution. Network Design allowed my team to serve as a consultants to the business. It is energizing to live outside of the siloes, leading with the mindset that Supply Chain is a value-added service & powerful differentiator. As a leader, empathy is my superpower. We are brilliantly unique humans first; that core belief is the heart of my leadership philosophy. I am motivated by developing & growing talent at all levels. Harvesting an environment of learning to succeed and failing safely has been the key contributor to my high-performing teams. I have a deep personal passion for mental health, inside and outside of the workplace. I was the proud Co-President of a mental health employee resource group and am certified as a Mental Health First Aider for workplace crisis response. Creating space at work for our entire selves is fundamental to achieving results. When I'm not solving supply chain problems or on my advocacy podium, you'll find me out on the hiking trails, recharging my own mental health in the forests. Or smashing tennis balls, petting animals, reading in the sun or diving into a bowl of authentic Southern shrimp & grits.
