Assisting Mining Advocacy Lead with corporate engagement, strategy and Indonesian mining sector analysis

Led a-5 person team on a project which delivered and embedded a new Code of Business Conduct for the Group, a 24/7 multilingual system for stakeholders to raise business conduct issues and an improved assurance system. Face-to-face training was carried out in 25 countries for 40,000 employees on the Code using innovative techniques tailored to their work place. New system has improved the Company’s capacity for early detection and management of actual and potential risks regarding bribery and corruption, conflict of interest, harassment, human rights violations and breaches of anti-trust law.

Led a project which included engagement with senior management on carbon intensive businesses and negotiation with the CEO to deliver a corporate climate change policy (released externally in May 2007). Key elements of the position included a US$300 million commitment to fund activities low emission technologies, 5 year targets, and an internal shadow pricing system for CO2. Initiated an internal energy excellence program to support the green house gas and energy intensity targets.
