I took myself on the wild ride and self-published my first children's book entitled "Auburn: A Story of Love and Loss for Children". I enjoy writing stories in my free time that take children on adventures through nature. The story themes are often inspired by events taking place within my own family in our little world in South Dakota. While I have just one published work to date, several more are in the wings waiting to be published in the future if I decide to take that journey again ... Maybe ... Probably ... In this role, I write and edit stories, online ads, social media posts, video concepts, fundraising pieces and more to inspire others to care as much about our mission as we do at St. Joseph's Indian School. One of the prime creatives on our small in-house marketing team, I'm called upon to create content to foster engagement, promote brand awareness and also tug at the heartstrings. With such an important mission, telling our story is an absolute joy. When I'm not creating, I'm editing and proofing direct mail packages, and researching about this ever-changing field of marketing so I can continually do my job better.

I was appointed to the Chamberlain City Commission in 2018. In 2019, I formally ran for the seat and was elected. As part of my role, I oversee Parks and Rec, the City Pool and other community-related subjects. I am the second woman to ever sit on the board.

Editor of a small weekly newspaper with a circ. of 1,500 in Central South Dakota.This role included writing articles, taking photos and designing pages for print, as well at the typical editor duties of editing and assigning stories.

This included handling public and media relations, managing social media, covering school events and programs, handling crisis and school closure communication, creating and distributing district newsletters, website management, and more.
