About Tammy De Jong, Ms, Sphr, Shrm-Scp

I love Texas! Even Hurricane Beryl didn't phase me. I am blessed to live in the State of Texas and enjoy the many things that Texas has to offer. As an HR Director in a mid-size organization, I wear many hats. I am a communicator, mediator, vision creator, compensation and benefits leader, problem-solver, payroll specialist, and much more. I am passionate about Human Resources and believe that HR = Human Relationships. At times, I am a voice for fairness, helping staff to understand where leaders are coming from and leaders to understand where staff are coming from and find a solution that works. Encouragement and motivation are my tools, and my desire is to assist the people in my Circle of Influence to grow in ways that they have never imagined. I try to be a resource to every person I encounter every day and each moment. I see myself as standing in the gap and helping people bridge their communication problems with each other. This enables people to truly understand how they can build a bridge and move on together.I am highly skilled in all areas of Human Resources and love to take on new challenges. Some of the challenges I have met are:• Improving HR and Payroll processes; transitioning teams from antiquated systems to new and innovative ways to work with today’s workforce. • Finding the right person for the job. I focus on implementing new ways to recruit the best people.• Improving company cultures that result in higher productivity and engagement while building top business results. Change is constant and we must adapt.• Demonstrating integrity and ethics throughout the organization in every process and every decision made. Without integrity and ethics, nothing else matters.By working with companies of varying sizes, industries, and business models, I developed a robust skill set including leadership training, program management, benefits administration, regulatory compliance, recruitment and retention, union negotiations, and contract management. In each position, I bring with me robust subject matter expertise, a passion for improving employee focus, and the ability to coordinate complex initiatives to successful completion. In past roles, I have been recognized for significantly improving retention rates by restructuring employee recruitment programs, coaching managers in emotional intelligence and leadership skills, and launching staff recognition programs across all company departments.
