👋 Hi, I'm Tom.I'm the Associate Director of People & Culture here at St Petrocs, and broadly speaking, it's my job to look after the entire employee lifecycle and ensure that our people are thriving at work and feel a genuine sense of belonging. Back in 2008, I moved from Norfolk and travelled over 400 miles to study Film at Falmouth University, here in Cornwall. It quickly became apparent that a career in filmmaking wasn't for me, but by then I had already fallen in love with the Cornish landscape and way of life. After graduating, I spent a few years as a successful salesperson, before joining a Cornish-based international disaster relief charity in 2015. It didn't take long for me to decide that my future was in the third sector. In 2018, I joined the team at St Petrocs and haven't looked back. Aside from delivering the good news to our successful job applicants (always lovely phone calls to make!), I think the best bit of my job is thinking creatively about ways to improve the culture and service conditions to make St Petrocs the best possible place to work for everybody, whoever they are.
