The project was funded by The World Bank & Department for International Development (DFID) UK. • As a RS Specialist providing technical assistance on behalf of the World Bank to FMISC, Water Resources Department, and Government of Bihar. • Under the umbrella of FMISC, Bihar I was trying to develop an efficient flood management information system out of the chaos with the help of RS & GIS technology since June 2007 to August 2012.• As a member of state level technical advisory committee for evaluation of GIS based spatial database mapping and satellite based flood disaster management.• Done satellite based flood detection and risk assessment for 6 flood seasons since 2007 to 2012• Done Panchayat wise booth locations mapping for assembly election 2010, part of Bihar using geo-spatial analysis tools.• Done QA & QC of GIS database made from Cartosat-1 for districts covering north Bihar developed by ROLTA INDIA PVT LTD.• Close Coordination with the senior ministerial officials, Bihar chief minister secretariat, commissioners, policy decision makers, international donors such as World Bank, DFID, UNICEF, NRSC, NDMA, IMD etc. government and private sector stakeholders• Implementation of FMISC web based GIS application for an efficient flood management, rescue relief operation for the years 2008 flood season to 2012 flood, including Koshi river disaster.• Provide technical support for identification of flood shelter sites, relief camps, dropping of the relief and rescue support material for flood prone area’s in an effective relief management from flood season 2007 to at present 2011 with the help of remote sensing and WEB based GIS tools with the community participation which lend a hand towards the humanity, for flood disaster management. • Developed first information products of FMISC, in the form of Inundation Map of 17th June, 2007 of Sitamarhi & Muzaffarpur districts
