Math degrees transfers well to other occupations as is evidenced in my Marketing Associate job where I worked with analysis of statistical models to target mailing populations. My teaching experience is in grades 6-12 mathematics in the United States including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. Additionally, I have tutored, in my math tutoring business, students from Kindergarten through college mathematics including Calculus and Statistics. My undergraduate coursework includes Statistics, Calculus I-III, Abstract Algebra, Linear Algebra, Discrete Math, Spherical Geometry, and Programming Scientist. According to university websites, a Mathematics degree prepares a person for careers in Financial Advisor, Wealth Management, Data Analyst, and many others. I worked as a Secondary Professional School Counselor in a High School Guidance Department. I have learned many skills for implementing a developmentally comprehensive school counseling program to meet the individual needs of all students through advocacy, collaboration, consultation, and leadership skills with services such as individual student planning, guidance lessons, individual counseling, group counseling, in-service leadership, crisis response, school/community referrals, and many other delivery services. I have worked with the Skyward scheduling program to design master schedules. Having a school counselor degree prepares me for many different career options. Some of these options include Academic Advisor, K-12 School Counselor, State or Federal DOE, LPC, Career Counselor, and Educational Corporations. My school counselor program prepared me to work with children, adolescents, and adults. Persons with math and counseling degrees are flexible and valuable employees that work well in any professional environment. My analytical and people skills make me a well-rounded individual that can solve complex problems in a socially intuitive manner.
