I am a Degree Mechanical Engineering Apprentice for Avara Foods, based in Brackley. Alongside my full-time position as a Principle Engineer Apprentice, I study part-time towards a Bachelors Degree (with honours) in Mechanical Engineering (Food and Drink), at Harper Adams University graduating in 2027. For the first two years of my apprenticeship, I will rotate around in 6-month placements within the production side of the company allowing me to experience varying processes and sections. Upon completion of my first two years, I will join the Management Department full-time to develop the skills necessary to become a Principle Engineer.Before my time at Avara Foods, I was a student at Silverstone UTC as I have an extreme passion for motorsport and automation, this is what inspired me to become an engineer. After studying GCSE’s, I moved to Silverstone where I achieved a triple distinction star for my EAL Level 3 Technical Extended Diploma in Engineering Technologies whilst also studying A-Level maths as an extra. (180 Ucas Points Total).Furthermore, during my time at Silverstone, I was the UTC's Head Boy and I won the prestigious Mercedes AMG HPP Student of the Year Award for my outstanding work and professionalism in my engineering course. This gave me additional motivation and confidence in myself to pursue a career in engineering.
