Horacio Sanchez has utilized his training as an educator and clinician toward the education and treatment of children with severe emotional disorders. His approaches are not only based on sound scientific research but have been the foundation of his award winning mental health and educational programs. The Resiliency Education Model has been selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a recommended statewide model. Selected to train the Pennsylvania Distinguished Educators, outstanding educators selected by the Secretary of Education and appointed to work with underperforming school districts, in the Resiliency Education Model and Brain Based Instruction. The Resiliency Assessment Instrument (co-created by Horacio Sanchez and Eric Vance MD) was utilized as the primary assessment tool statewide in North Carolina for evaluating a class of students nominated for the highest level of educational and mental health services. It is now implemented on a hosted system in which the student evaluator inputs the information and an individualized plan is formulated. Resiliency Inc. programs and student assessment instrument are currently going through an independent validation process by the University of Pittsburgh - Carl I. Fertman PhD, MBA, CHES, Associate Professor is the lead researcher for federal accreditation and funding.
