Dr. Sater is a physician entrepreneur, a visionary healthcare leader, and an innovative scientist disrupting current healthcare delivery in oncology to help cancer patients fight with dignity, live longer, and enjoy a good quality of life. This stems from his core belief that we treat humans and not cases. As a pathologist and translational researcher Dr. Sater founded and led the Tumor Immune MicroEnvironment (TIME) Laboratory at the NCI (2017-2021) which continues to serve many laboratories and clinical trials at the NIH. The TIME lab is a lifelong investment with many publications to come and serve the scientific community. Dr Sater is also a clinical trialist (Hematologist Oncologist running clinical trials) and a research leader translating epigenetic and immune biomarker discovery knowledge into innovative immune-oncology trials. Dr Sater moved to the state of sunshine bringing his 20+ experience to the community where he envisioned delivering high-quality care to patients. He served the Treasure Coast by raising millions of philanthropy and grant dollars which helped build a research team and bring in over 20 innovative clinical trials, which will continue to serve the community. In his current endeavor, Dr. Sater started a very promising company "HAS Consulting" which will change the way cancer therapy is delivered to patients. This is a global platform with very high standards connecting the top experts in their field with patients across the globe and uses the most innovative tools to care for our loved ones including artificial intelligence, centralized drug delivery, and other adaptive concepts personalized to patients' needs. My role would be to work on a basic science project (benchwork), develop and design clinical trial protocols and apply for grants. I also work on recruitment and followup of patients as a co-investigator in experimental therapeutics or phase I Clinic at Georgia Cancer Center. My basic science research project focuses on understanding the stability of T regulatory cells and the development of IHC biomarkers. This latter will be achieved by studying the immune tumor microenviroment (TME) using multiplex microscopy. -

Surgical Pathology ResidentUniversite Libre De Bruxelles Jun 2009 - Jun 2011For two years I functioned as a pathology resident with special concentration in onco pathology. In addition to skin and other organ general pathology, I worked with belgian experts and european references in soft tissue tumors, sarcomas, head and neck, breast, urological and gasrto-intestinal malignancies and others. Techniques mastered include tumor frozen section (Extemporane) which implies grossing of specimens received from the OR, freezing tissue and cutting samples to be stained and examined under the microscope in a timely manner. I also learned karyotyping, immunohistochemistry, PCR, tumor banking and others. During these two years also I learned a lot of tumor pathology, grading and staging. An important step was to represent the pathology department in different subspecialties or tumor boards. On top of this I performed about 100 autopsies in 2 years with different pathological findings, but none for forensic reasons.

Surgical Pathology ResidentNational Institute Of Pathology-Lebanon Jun 2007 - Jun 2009For 2 years I trained in general surgical pathology, performing all types of specimen grossing as well as autopsies for medical and sometimes forensic reasons.During this period I was able to learn basic principles of histo-pathology, specialized staining techniques and immunohistochemistry and apply this info with the correlation of medical history into diagnostic process. The spectrum of pathology experienced includes inflammatory, infectious, benign and malignant lesions of pretty much all systems. In the second year I was able to finalize a lot of reports by myself or with the help of the attending of record. In the National Institute of Pathology we used to handle a relatively huge load of work, with an estimate of 40000 specimens a year. Examples of my work include diagnosing pathologic specimens as:AppendicitsCholecystitisPancreatitisGI: esophagitis, Barrets, gastritis, colitis,...Malignancies: GIST, melanomas, lymphomas, adenocarcinomas of prostate lung, stomach, colon ..., Skin, head and neck tumors,...Techniques learned/performed: Grossing, Autopsy, Staining, IHC, Frozen Section, PCR, ...
