Heather joined the Human Resources Team at Arkansas Federal Credit Union in 2005. She has 18+ years of diverse human resources and management experience. She has extensive hands-on experience leading HR initiatives including policy design, compensation, performance management, recruiting, compliance reporting, HRIS implementations, HR workflow development, training and development, and benefits administration. Her focus on corporate culture and employee engagement has been recognized as Arkansas Federal was named once again by Arkansas Business as one of the Best Places To Work in Arkansas and by Credit Union Journal as one of the Best Credit Unions To Work For.Prior to joining Arkansas Federal, Heather partnered with Human Resources leadership of both small and large organizations across many industries as a Life and Health Insurance agent for A. F. Smith and Associates, Inc. for 5+ years. She specialized in developing and implementing employee benefit programs. She serves as Board Chair for Arkansas Federal's Insurance CUSO, AFCU Insurance Solutions, LLC. She serves as Board Secretary for Arkansas Federal Foundation. She serves as Board Chair for Alzheimer’s Arkansas, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Arkansas families affected by dementia of any kind.Heather earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Central Arkansas. She earned her Certified Senior Executive (CSE) Designation from the Credit Union Executives Society (CUES). She earned the inaugural Credit Union HR Compliance Professional (CUHRCP) Designation from the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). She is a member of Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and serves on the NAFCU HR Steering Committee.Heather is married to her husband, Joe, and they have two sons, Ethan and Eli. She spends as much time as she can enjoying her family.
