He has over 2 decades of experience in Regional Cable, Channel Distribution, Research, Broadband & Internet Centric activities. Mr Harvinder Singh started his career in the early 90’s when cable was just in its infancy stage. He spearheaded and was instrumental in commissioning Mumbai's First and Asia's largest CATV Head-end for IndusInd Media & Communication. A seasoned CATV professional who specialized in building and expanding networks and also building world class Fiber Optic Networks which are truly scale-able. He monetized the local retail advertising business on regional cable through a unique venture: Update Advertising & Marketing (P) Ltd. With Harvinder at the helm, Update Advertising has become India’s single largest cable advertising company with the credit of managing more than 500 top brands and covering roughly 4000 towns & 500 cable networks across the country. He has pioneered a lot of the industries benchmark services. Under Media Research he took up a census of 2000 networks across 300 towns in India and delivered it in the form of an OTS Update. The research tool “OTS” enabled both broadcasters, as well as agencies to measure the actual physical penetration of a channel across markets. In 2003 he added another vertical named “Channel Watch” India’s First Channel Distribution Company. Channel Watch managed 20 On-Air channels and the launch of another 6 channels ensuring the highest reach for these channels. Channel Watch handled channels like Zee Group, NDTV, CNBC, Sab tv, Hungama & Sahara Group. Lastmile Communication - an internet installation and collection company is also the largest overhead fiber optic cable provider in Mumbai.
