He remains on Galectin Therapeutics board of directors. In prior roles, he led Georgia Institute of Technology’s ATDC as Principal in bio-science commercialization efforts where he helped to found Clearside Biomedical. Previously, he was Head of Operations & Commercial Development for Altea Therapeutics Corp. .From 2006-2008, Dr. Shlevin was a founder and CEO of Tikvah Therapeutics, focused on late-stage development of therapeutics & devices for treatment of neurological diseases. From 1998 – 2006, he held position of increasing responsibility at Solvay Pharmaceuticals including that of President and CEO of its US organization . Under Dr. Shlevin’ leadership, Solvay Pharma US . experienced record growth in revenue & profits; He managed resolution of a long-standing adverse regulatory matter without fines or consent decrees.He held senior executive positions at Bausch & Lomb Pharmaceuticals, CIBA Vision Opthalmics (co-founder), CIBA-Geigy Pharmaceuticals, and Searle Pharmaceuticals..Dr Shlevin earned a PhD in physiology from the U.of Rochester and post-doctoral at Mayo Clinic where he served as Asst Prof. of Pharmacology & Physiology.
