In this role, I oversee the formulation of policies for the private education sector in Singapore, and the development of tertiary education in publicly-funded private education institutions, such as the new Government-supported private Arts University.

I was part of the middle management where I translated the diverse high-level objectives to the multiple operational teams I oversaw, including the transition between education levels, in support of our goal to mould the future of our nation. While operations was a change from the previous work experiences I've had thus far, the new challenges I faced in this job added on to my skillset, thus increasing versatility in my management abilities going forward. I was the system owner for a number of proprietary applications and work with my IT counterparts to ensure business continuity through enterprise risk management, business continuity planning and regular cybersecurity audits and patches. In this role, I also rolled out changes in policy and managed the internal and external communications via various platforms to implement these changes smoothly.

I managed a team which was responsible for the funding of postgraduate scholarships and planning of research manpower at the national level, and implemented policies to meet the social and economic objectives set out in the RIE2020 Masterplan. I was involved in the setting of KPIs for this area, and reporting progress on these KPIs to senior management and other platforms.

I spearheaded the technology foresighting and roadmapping work in its pioneering phase, to look into suitable technologies for deployment in Singapore, so as to reduce our carbon emissions and meet our international commitments. This required coordination across almost 20 different agencies and institutions, to create a common understanding and vocabulary for engagement and advancement of the climate change cause.
