My goal is to shed light on important, often under-recognized, issues -- helping people and organizations make sense of the world, their place in it, and what they can do to make a positive impact in their community. I honed my skills and capabilities in academic, clinical, and commercial settings. I most enjoy bringing together teams of people with different backgrounds and experiences to achieve a common goal (even if they do not report to me). My leadership philosophy is simply to roll up my sleeves and get in the trenches alongside the people I lead. By being empathetic to their needs and desires, I am better able to craft a strategic plan that helps the organization and its people be successful. And, I am passionate about supporting Asian women in leadership -- breaking both the bamboo and glass ceilings.I have lived in the US, Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan, and UK where I had the chance to exercise my language skills. I am fluent in English, conversational in Mandarin Chinese, and can get by day-to-day in Japanese. I am currently based in Singapore with my husband and two children. The views expressed on this profile are solely my own and do not represent the views of my employer or any other organization I am affiliated with.
