I write about technology, how it impacts people, and how it interacts with the government and commercial sectors. Most recently I covered data privacy and its social, legal, and regulatory implications for CQ/Roll Call. Data privacy is a big beat that touches on almost every aspect of life and business in the 21st Century and I talked to legislators, technologists, lawyers, academics, and civil/digital rights advocates to cover all angles of this rapidly evolving space. This beat was an extension of years of experience covering cybersecurity and information technology developments across the federal government. I’ve written about the interconnections between government, business and technology in areas such as military communications, command and control systems, sensors, IT systems, robotics, weapons systems, and aerospace. Over the years, I’ve also covered government telecommunications markets, supercomputing, and technology-related legislation. I have contributed to a variety of publications including US News & World Report, Aerospace America, Information Week, C4ISRNet, Defense News, Defense Systems and Signal Magazine.
