Stateline Services Division has been reorganized as an educational entity, and is under new management. It was a blast opening and setting-up Stateline Services, and while I never expected to develop a strictly educational entity, I'm very happy that I was able to be a part of it. I wish the good people there many years of successful operations, and I thank our customers for pointing the way for us!

Diebold Goldring Tooling, U.S.A. has ceased all operations. The company was dissolved as of 1 July 2013.Changes in the industry here, and pricing structures in Europe, made our position in the U.S.A. untenable. I founded Diebold Goldring Tooling, U.S.A. in 1996. Under my management, DGT, USA was established as one of the foremost players in the field of HSK tooling and gauging. I spent a good bit of time on the road, consulting and advising, and yes, even making repairs to drawbars from time to time!From 1996 to 2013, we provided our customers with quality tooling, gauging, and other machine-related peripherals. More importantly, we provided honest, timely, and accurate, information and specifications. Some people are characterizing the closing of DGT as a "restructuring"​, and this couldn't be further from the truth. There has also been an effort to obtain and use the old phone number of DGT in an attempt to mislead customers into thinking they are contacting DGT, USA. Diebold Goldring Tooling, U.S.A. is closed permanently. Others may work with DGT's former partners, but the employees and knowledge-base of Diebold Goldring Tooling have moved on to other endeavors. The title says it all. I handled all repairs for Ott-Jakob power drawbars, wrote and taught training materials and maintenance manuals, and traveled extensively to maintain customer contacts. AME is still the distributor of all Ott-Jakob products in the USA, and can assist you with your drawbar-and many other-needs.

Set-up repair and machining facility from the ground up. Designed and installed all air-handling systems, workflow procedures, machining cells, and service bays. Lived and worked in Kempten, Germany, as part of my training program, and was involved in repairing and assembling power drawbars.Performed all service work on Ott power drawbars then in use in North America and Mexico. Ott Precision was sold by it's parent company, Ott Maschinenteilen, to Advanced Machine Co., of Rockford, Illinois, and I accepted their offer of employment at that time.

Started out as a CNC machinist, then was promoted to supervisor on the second shift. Later transfered into the Toolroom, and was running it when I left to work for Ott Precision.

Ah, life in a union shop! I worked, off and on, for five years. Learned a lot, got my first exposure to CNC machinery, and also learned to live on $45 a week strike pay...for 172 days!

Worked as an extrusion machine operator and set-up man. There were layoffs, transfers, and all that fun stuff going on the entire time that I worked for CCC...even so, it was probably one of the most enjoyable jobs I have ever had...at least Cortland Avenue was!

Loosely speaking, this was my apprenticeship. I started out sweeping floors and cleaning machines, and was gradually taught to operate the less complicated machines...and then the more complicated ones. Lifes lessons learned early and hard are not easily forgotten.
