Managed the Development Assistant and the Humane Educator. Led the upgrade of Raiser’s Edge and introduced, organized, and implemented Kintera software for our spring fundraising event. Negotiated and organized NCOA cleanup of our database on a bi-annual basis. Responsible for raising $250,000 per year through direct mail campaigns. Project manager for the two restricted funds. Developed a planned giving program and brochure. Maintained and developed ongoing correspondence with individuals interested in including the Animal Welfare League of Arlington in their estate plans. Represented the staff at the League on the Board of Directors’ Financial and Nominating Committees.In April 2005, the position was expanded to include managing all fundraising and “friend-raising” events for the League and to managing the three-person Volunteer Department. In this added position, served as staff liaison on the Special Events Committee. Organized the 10th Annual Walk for the Animals and increased the gross income for the event by twenty-five percent while lowering expenses. With the Executive Director, served as press contact for the League.
