I am currently PT/Faculty Head of Social Subjects at a city school. In January 2023 I moved from PT at St Machar Academy to Cults Academy.Within this role I am responsible for ten members of staff and leading change within the faculty to boost attainment for our young people in line with whole school priorities. I have experience working with a range of students from different backgrounds and experiences.I regularly engage in data analysis to evidence our next steps and show off successes.Within my previous faculty we offered a variety of SQA subjects including NPAs and SfW courses to offer a variety of pathways for learners, we regularly reflect on our offerings to adapt to current needs. Through this I have been involved in SQA Verification procedures and partaking in approval meetings for new Level 6 courses. In my previous setting I placed a priority on supporting staff with behaviour management to ensure learning and teaching time was maximised for the benefit of all learners. I have previously completed the CCC training and I am trained as part of the MVP scheme to support students in delivering workshops.In addition to leadership responsibilities I also have my own teaching timetable including Higher Modern Studies and have previously supported the Social Subjects Baccalaureate. I actively look to support whole school projects and engage in "bigger picture" activities.

Completed flexible route probation and gained full GTCS registration, May 2019.I teach Social Subjects and Modern Studies to a range of classes with pupils between 12-18 years of age. I teach a range of Social Subjects in S1 and S2 then take responsibility for Modern Studies at National level to Advanced Higher. I am particularly interested in citizenship education and encouraging our young people to be responsible citizens. In addition to this I am a SQA Higher marker and have been for several years.In addition to this I have led on introducing, creating and teaching the SQA Mental Health Award at Level 4/5 to our pupils.I have helped to develop a Personal Development module in line with the SQA accredited course at Level 6 which is offered as a NPA.I am also a SQA marker.My interests include creating an inclusive learning environment for pupils and restorative practice.Recent training has included becoming a MVP (Mentor for Violence Prevention).I throw myself into the wider school community and have attended week long residential trips, helped to direct (and appear in) the school show and also aid trips linked to wider achievement.I regularly support senior students with applications to college and university or offer after school study at no extra charge for students.

This post is in addition to my full time Modern Studies teaching responsibility and had limited funding. The role of PT of LT&A involves supporting staff in creating a positive and engaging learning environment. Projects I am involved in through this post include:- Co-leading the Learning and Teaching working group- Creation and development of faculty Twitter accounts to open communication to our community and beyond- Supporting learning conversations across the school as part of a QA process- Investigating potential CLPL events and gathering information on organisations/ individuals who could provide this- Sharing good practice across the school. This includes the creation of a learning and teaching website so staff can access items quickly and easily- Promoting engagement in professional readings and action research- Working with pupil voice groups to establish what is effective across the school- Working with PT of Digital Literacy to promote a variety of learning techniques and support staff in gaining digital skills necessary

Working with young people and schools in the North East of Scotland as part of Scotland's national Schools for Higher Education Programme (SHEP). The main aim of the programme is to widen access to Higher Education (HE) and help pupils who may be at risk of not achieving their full potential.We work closely with partner schools and HE institutions across Scotland to provide a variety of activities, workshops, campus visits and school activities including one to one support during the college and university application process for pupils. In addition to this, we hold two yearly residential trips to allow pupils to get a taste of what student life is like.My main duties included:• organising and delivering school activities• liaising with partner teachers, schools and HE institutions• organising visits to HE institutions• developing activities to ensure they are up to date, relevant and engaging• working closely with pupils on a regular basis, including one-to-one meetings• providing regular support to pupils during the HE application process• supporting pupils with personal statement writing and development• recruiting and training new volunteers throughout the year• managing groups of volunteers during activities and providing guidance and feedback• taking a lead on planning and organising residential activities• updating social media outlets with relevant information for pupilsIn addition, I was also fortunate to attend conferences and CPD events related to articulation, best practice and the role of widening participation practitioners. I successfully completed my Scottish Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) in May 2017 and also completed Recruitment and Selection Training in order to assist in the recruitment of new staff members to the team.

After winning 'The Chosen One' I was asked if I'd like to be part of the Northsound street team. This involves promoting the brand at events, chatting to members of the public and ensure the brand is promoted effectively. In addition to this I have been asked to help with content for recording links to send back to the studio for use within the live show.This role is ad-hoc and I have so far been fortunate to work at a number of events including promoting Northsound in the local community and helping at events for other local businesses through the S&P Executive.

My role as office administrator was incredibly varied working for a small business. In addition to the day-to-day office management my other responsibilities included:- processing purchase orders and invoices- dealing with shipping queries, including import/export queries from HMRC- liaising with customers- end of month accounts for the VAT return- updating QHSE management systems as necessary- completing workplace inspections in line with QHSE guidelines- ensuring policies and procedures are kept up to date and work with QHSE consultant to maintain our ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards- updating social media outlets with relevant informationDue to the nature of some of these responsibilities I became comfortable using Excel and Sage software on a daily basis.Working in a small team meant that I was often expected to independently manage my workload and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner. Due to the nature of the role, tasks could change quickly and I became adept at moving my schedule around to suit priority issues.During my time here I also set up and took control of social media accounts for the business with the aim to improve our presence online to aid our wider marketing strategy.

I worked as a polling clerk during the 2015 General election. This involved attending training events as well as aiding the Presiding Officer with any duties required during the day. We ensured the votes cast were done so in line with all rules and regulations in a fair and consistent manner.

I also liaised with clients to assess their recruitment needs and find candidates which were suitable for job openings. This role involved working in a very lively office environment, with a wide range of people from varying backgrounds and utilising database software on a daily basis.

As a student ambassador I was responsible for being a welcome face to the University. Many duties revolved around working Open Days and Applicant Days where I provided information not only about the University but also the local area as well as delivering campus tours to prospective students. Through this role I have also been featured on the front of the 2014 University prospectus.

During my time at WDF I was constantly committed to helping our store improve and beat the targets we had been set. Working across all departments meant I had to be on top form to keep up to date with new products and ranges that the store was stocking include high value liquor, fragrance, luxury and beauty products. Whilst here I was nominated for, and consequently won one month, a customer service award within the store due to a particularly good sales experience with a customer.
