Founder of Caring people in 2004 following the appointment of a Branch Manager who, with company support and financial investment, Caring People rapidly grew from a start-up business to achieving a turnover of £1.2 million per annum. Working in partnership with Worcester County Council, CCG and CHC. The company employed in excess of 76 Carers and had approximately 65 Service users in domiciliary settings. I sold this business in November 2014.

In parallel with starting up Caring People, I made a further investment in the purchase of a 16 bed residential Care Home for the elderly. Hillswood Care Ltd ran very successfully for 11 years and achieved high CQC recognition. Full occupancy was maintained through dedication in providing the highest quality of care coupled with considerable financial capital investment. I sold this company in June 2015.

Started from zero. Over a 6 year period developed a successful recruitment desk from home, focussing on the Recruit to Recruit sector. This was a 360 degree role, encompassing, cold calling clients to gain prospective vacancies, maintained 3 client visits per week. Negotiated my own T’s and C’s. Advertised for suitable candidates, which included head-hunting. Pre-screening candidates to face to face interviews. Arranging interviews between client and candidate, negotiating salaries and closing deals. Invoicing Clients and credit control.Built an enviable database from scratch. Placed on average 3 candidates per month across 60 clients. Most candidates were introduced to me through referrals and reputation.

1997 – 1998 Personnel & Care Bank, New Street BirminghamPermanent Commercial Recruitment Consultant.Full Perm Recruitment Role. Tasked with taking a commercial desk from start up. Targeted to bill £6k per month with a £3k threshold and a £500 advertising budget. This role was extremely pressurised and also involved meeting weekly KPI’s in terms of new vacancies, new client visits, interviews arranged between client and candidate to placements achieved. Following a 6 month probation period I billed a total of £60k in 4 months.
