Focus on exploring magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at cryogenic temperatures with dynamic nuclear polarization, a hyperpolarization technique, for micron-scale resolution imaging.• Constructed a cryogenic probe for solid-state micron-scale magnetic resonanceimaging (MRI) at 9.4T.• Integrated pre-existing equipment including an NMR spectrometer, (pre)amplifiersand a T/R switch into an MRI system and characterized the noise figure and gradientperformance.• Programmed acquisition macros and data processing scripts in Python for the MRI system.• Applied dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) technique into pure phase-encodingimaging for high resolution solid-state MRI.• Developed a slice-selection pulse sequence based on Lee-Goldberg irradiation forsolid-state MRI and utilized compressed sensing method to accelerate imaging acquisition in single-point MRI.

• Investigated the re-folding process of a ribosomal protein (L23,~10 kDa) using dissolution DNP NMR.• Developed a liquid-driven sample injector as well as LabView software to precisely handle hyperpolarized fluids in dissolution DNP experiment and characterized residual fluid motions with a single-scan diffusion measurement.• Design and built an NMR console (20-30 MHz) based on field programmable gate array (FPGA) technology and conventional analog front-end circuits for NMR signal digitization and conditioning.• Constructed a rectangular coil system for a nuclear-spin optical rotation (NSOR)experiment and measured the NSOR constant of 1H spin in water.• Conducted multi-scan Hadamard spectroscopy by integrating flow NMR with dissolution DNP and utilized Entropy Maximization algorithm for rapid reconstruction of chemical shift correlations.

• Determined the absorption cross section of chlorine peroxide (ClOOCl), an important molecule in the formation of the ozone hole, by using a mass-selected detection method instead of optical methods.• Designed and constructed a molecular beam source to generate stable ClO dimers.• Studied the mechanism of the F2 reaction with propene using the crossed molecular beam technique.
