📩 katie.hsu@stonybrook.eduHello! 👋 I’m Katie, a fourth-year psychology major on the premedical track at Stony Brook University.As a native New Yorker, I have always been drawn to the hospital setting by observing the plethora of medical innovations and biomedical talent right around the corner. I found myself exploring the different realms of medicine and public health at Stony Brook University Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine.🩺 Today, I am• mentoring high school students from the Simons Summer Research Program and undergraduate peers in the Ghebrehiwet Lab at Stony Brook Medicine.🩺 In the past, I have• collaborated with healthcare professionals and shadowed resident physicians and medical students throughout Stony Brook University Hospital in the Pathways to Healthcare Program.• researched the association between age and race with onstage of diagnosis in cervical cancer patients under mentors Dr. Rulla Tamimi, Dr. Lauren Mount, and Nicole Santos at Weill Cornell Medicine.• volunteered as an EMT-B and served as the Secretary at the Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps, a New York State-certified emergency ambulance agency. • volunteered at Stony Brook University Hospital as a Clinical Intern in the Emergency Department.
